I have the same exact problem with my Nvidia ( i always had it ) plus
that as i can see in boochart plymouthd takes 50 seconds to load

I have the same exact problem in 12.10 running the latest updates
Im crashing to the login screen without any errors to the Xorg.log
... whenever i try to play a video .
What i did is uninstall my nvidia 310 drivers ( that was working
perfectly , i only got this problem today though i was u
I found the culprit .
The problem the xfs font server in the xorg.conf
The fix is to #comment or delete the xfs font paths in the Xorg.conf

I just tried to remove the Nvidia Restricted drivers and use the Ubuntu
Default one the "nouveau" with the same results .

switch it off again , every time i press it it switch on in 0 time by
it self again its like it is always on but it isn't .
My laptop keyboard doesn't have a numpad so instead of numpad it shares

I forgot to say that if i spam a letter that is shared with a number
while also spamming the numlock key i manage to type both .
Example "L" letter is sharing the same Key with the number "3" so
the result was something like:
ll3333lll33lll
So the numlock isnt actual
