Public bug reported:

It happened to me twice in the last few days. Sometimes when I open
laptop's lid some time after locking the screen, the gnome-screensaver
unlock dialog is missing, or even the screen is completely blank - I can
only see a cursor. All apps are working, I can hear their sounds. I can
even switch to the console using Alt+F1. I'm just unable to log back
into my account and continue the work. The only way I know to deal with
the problem is to restart lightdm, but, obviously, I lose all unsaved
data. i915state doesn't show any problem.

My notebook:
Asus K53SV
i5-2410M
HD3000+GT540M (works thanks to the Bumblebee)

Please let me know if there's something I forgot about, but it's needed
to fix the problem. It's probably the last thing stopping me from
switching to Ubuntu for good.
