All the logs attached to this bug are useless, they just show VESA
loaded because you disabled modesetting on intel. You need to look at
the log files from the broken system.

I have this problem with 2 systems, both Nvidia cards, diferent series.
Kubuntu also shows this behaviur. It is not a total black screen, but a
black screen with a white big checkerd effect on it, both systems show
identical screens.
