Upgrade Manager upgrades fglrx even when card is unsupported on new release

Using an older version of fglrx/Catalyst on Ubuntu 12.10 will not work
because the older version does not support recent kernels.
Do the following:
1) Completely remove old fglrx:

2) Restart
3) sudo
After removing fglrx everything was fine. I did it before after reading
this answer http://askubuntu.com/questions/202857/cant-install-ati-
proprietary-drivers-in-12-10 .

The problem with fglrx occurs because your card is no longer supported
in newer versions. The upgrade manager is not smart enough to realize
this.
