Public bug reported: Hi there,
New system, running 12.10. MB: FM2A75-Pro 4M with A6-5400K CPU On-board Radeon HD7540D graphics (no PCI graphics card installed, using MB's) Graphics controller identified as : 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Device 9991 I wanted to watch on line video on Hulu, but the video was stuttering, so I looked to see how to get better drivers to see if I could spruce things up, and went to install fglrx-updates ...after doing so, I encountered problem of desktop showing up, but no menu bars....just blank desktop after running: apt-get install fglrx- updates and rebooting. ...can fix problem by removing said package, but then driver is uninstalled. This is pretty much the same error as seen in bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer- updates/+bug/1069199 ...but the people working that bug said to open a new ticket as I did not have a hybrid Intel/Radeon system....just Radeon alone. ** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1087840 Title: Unity Desktop disabled after installing fglrx-updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1087840/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
