I attached those files to the email as I could not get logged into the
launchpad via that terminal interface on the Ubuntu system.
After reading the man page I get the impression that the apport-connect
should start something other than a text based screen display.

Yes I can get a terminal session with the Ctrl+Alt+F1.
Currently I am using SSH and SFX to access the system from a Win-XP box.

You can get to a terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1. Please run this command to
gather information:
apport-collect 1143327
Note that if you have a RadeonHD 2000-4000 series card, and you had
fglrx installed in 12.04, it won't work in 12.10
