I believe the patch attached to comment #5 works around the problem,
however before uploading we should consider whether a better solution is
for the various graphics driver packages to provide libcuda1, as per:

The attachment nvidia-cuda-toolkit_5.0.35-4ubuntu1.debdiff seems to be
a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug
report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. If
the attachment isn't a patch, please remove the patch flag from the
attachment, remove
