Public bug reported: I installed libopencl-dev on my laptop with an i915 chipset.
This in turn caused the libopencv-ocl2.4 dependency to be installed, which in turn caused the nvidia-304 packages to be installed to satisfy the libopencl1 virtual package dependency. Afterwards, when I restarted my computer, unity wouldn't load and I found an error message in Xorg.log stating that the *Nvidia* glx module had failed to load. The workaround was to: apt-get remove nvidia-304 nvidia-304-updates apt-get install libopencl-dev ocl-icd-libopencl1 I will post the exact log contents tomorrow. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: saucy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244498 Title: Installing opencl causes intel glx module to fail loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1244498/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
