Val, thank you for providing the requested information. Given a solution was found through a modification in evdev, I'll reassign to it. This wouldn't be considered a duplicate of another bug at this point (ex. 926917) or vice versa as the other report doesn't have any log files for the original reporter, and the proposed patch hasn't been acknowledged by the OR to fix his problem.
