Public bug reported: Sometimes I can't find applications by searching in the dash, only files and folders. It is really annoying because I need to log out to solve it.
I'm using the stock Unity Packages in Ubuntu 14.04. I don't know how to reproduce it. It happens once in a while but I can't seem to find out why.
