You have been subscribed to a public bug: This has been the case in the last few versions of Ubuntu but I had hoped that it would be fixed in 14.04 LTS.
I have a XPS 15 L521x which has a synaptics touchpad. The touchpad control is overly sensitive and feels jittery especially when trying to select text and click on links. It is very fustrating and makes the operating system unusable at times. dmesg output for touchpad [ 2.898477] psmouse serio1: synaptics: Touchpad model: 1, fw: 8.1, id: 0x1e2b1, caps: 0xd00123/0x840300/0x126c00, board id: 2080, fw id: 1114765 [ 2.974217] input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input5 I've also attached the synclient -l output ** Affects: xinput (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Touchpad overly sensitive and jittery https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1339183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xinput in Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
