I'll have to admit that I was a bit confused in the end there after all purging, reinstalling and installing. Checked my gpu-manager log now and it says that neither nouveau nor nvidia are loaded. Just Intel. In the jockey or 'additional drivers' interface it says nouveau. As I understand it there

I have since solved my issue by purging and reinstalling nouveau together with bumblebee. (http://www.bumblebee- project.org/install.html) My laptop was also, in addition to having the display issue, running abnormally hot since I installed 14.04. Bumblebee solved both issues in one go. How or
