file /etc/udev/rules.d/71-nvidia.rules

After reboot no change. Startx results in a blank screen.

Daily build of 7 sept. results in terminal without GUI. Upgraded nvidia

The upgrade received today has resolved this problem on my system.
Lubuntu 4.10 beta1 is doing allright now on driver nvidia 304.123.

After updating the alpha version (which worked OK) to beta version of Lubuntu
14.10 I no longer could get the desktop interface, only a blank screen
appeared after a second of flashing of Lubuntu 14.10 in the centre of the
