A very long line of text (total file size approximately 757kb) will not
be able to be displayed correctly using GUI-based programs. Attached is
a picture of the file open in gedit. Just as a test, I opened the same
file in MonoDevelop, and the same corruption occurred. However, if I
read the file using the command-line cat, the file displays perfectly
fine in the terminal window.

I expected the file to display normally in the window.
