Running a newer 4.6 kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v4.6-yakkety and it seems like the issue is gone. That would actually mean that this bug seems like a duplicate of Bug #1550779. @Bryan: Can you please test the newer kernel as well and confirm this? -- You received

Just did a quick try while working with the annoyance before i will switch back to my laptop i found that the options for the intel xorg driver will proably have no impact on this issue. For example: t450s:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep -i tear [10.276] (==) intel(0): TearFree disabled
