I previously reported a X freeze and screen powering off bug over here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1655803.  I had
hoped that some of the fixes in  newer mesa releases would fix it, but
alas I having the same problem on the latest x-staging mesa.  After
15-30 minutes of activity (emacs, terminal, chrome) X freezes, the
screen turns disco colors, and the screen powers down.  My machine is
usually completely hung (can't ssh in or ping), but I was able to ssh in
a collect a few logs (possible redundant, included below) this last
time.  Thanks, I hope this helps.
