Public bug reported: Hello. I've tried to write on askUbuntu and to the Dell Support but got no answers. My problem is that I can setup my trackpoint properly on Ubuntu. It works awesome on Windows with or without drivers installed. I've come across this thread https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1590590 which says that trackpoint is not recognized by ubuntu on 16.04 and it was fixed in 17.04 So I thought that 5470 and 7470 are pretty close and tried new 17.04 ubuntu but the result is the same.
with xinput on 16.04 command I was able to set up 3 parameters but on 17.04 there are no such parameters: xinput list-props 13 Device 'AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint Stick': Device Enabled (140): 1 Coordinate Transformation Matrix (142): 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000 libinput Accel Speed (309): 0.000000 libinput Accel Speed Default (310): 0.000000 libinput Accel Profiles Available (311): 1, 1 libinput Accel Profile Enabled (312): 1, 0 libinput Accel Profile Enabled Default (313): 1, 0 libinput Natural Scrolling Enabled (314): 0 libinput Natural Scrolling Enabled Default (315): 0 libinput Send Events Modes Available (260): 1, 0 libinput Send Events Mode Enabled (261): 0, 0 libinput Send Events Mode Enabled Default (262): 0, 0 libinput Left Handed Enabled (316): 0 libinput Left Handed Enabled Default (317): 0 libinput Scroll Methods Available (318): 0, 0, 1 libinput Scroll Method Enabled (319): 0, 0, 1 libinput Scroll Method Enabled Default (320): 0, 0, 1 libinput Button Scrolling Button (321): 2 libinput Button Scrolling Button Default (322): 2 libinput Middle Emulation Enabled (323): 0 libinput Middle Emulation Enabled Default (324): 0 Device Node (263): "/dev/input/event6" Device Product ID (264): 2, 8 libinput Drag Lock Buttons (325): <no items> libinput Horizontal Scroll Enabled (326): 1 and this is a 16.04 parameters: https://askubuntu.com/questions/908477/configure-trackpoint-on-dell-latitude-5470 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1686155 Title: Trackpoint sensitivity on Dell Latitude 5470 is insane To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1686155/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
