Public bug reported:

Hi!
I've had Ubuntu 16 with Unity on my children's older computer and Minecraft
(downloaded and installed from Software Center) worked just fine. I then did a
clean install to Ubuntu 17 with GNOME and downloaded and installed Minecraft in
the same way, but when the final Minecraft playwindow pops up Ubuntu is really
slow and hardly respond. After I installed Unity and run it instead of GNOME,
everything worked great again. Maybe Java OpenJDK doesn't work well with GNOME?
Is this something you can fix?
I would prefer to run the preinstalled GNOME instead of Unity, especially since
GNOME is the choice for Ubuntu from now on, and I'm planning on upgrading to
the upcoming version 18 of Ubuntu.
Thank you for a nice operating system otherwise.
Best regards, Ken Karlsson
