Public bug reported: I have an industrial PC that needs to run Ubuntu. Installing from USB stick was a hassle. (didn't work in dozens of combinations of memory stick (kingston/adata), usb slot (front, back), distribution(14.04, 16.04, 18.04), variant (server, desktop, mini, net)
When I finally got it installed, the PC would hang after booting, never completing to the login. A recovery boot allowed me to install ssh, and using SSH I could see the wayland process. I'm a bit wary of wayland, so I removed it and now the system boots. model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) ** Affects: wayland (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to wayland in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782559 Title: Wayland hangs?
