"incorrect resolution" is because you have booted into recovery mode, which disables proper resolutions via the "nomodeset" kernel parameter.
Please reboot and as soon as the purple screen appears tap "Esc". Now select a normal kernel to boot that is not recovery mode. If the problem still persists after that then please run: dmesg > dmesg.txt and send us the new 'dmesg.txt' file. ** Tags added: radeon ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812603 Title: Keeps coming up with incorrect resolution and defaulting to lower resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1812603/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
