There was no fix released in gnome-shell. That's just a quirk of Launchpad that any upstream bug that is closed is set to 'Fix Released'. The upstream gnome-shell bug was closed because we don't believe it is gnome-shell or mutter's fault. That's why this bug is now assigned to the kernel and
