You have been subscribed to a public bug: On Ubuntu 8.10, using compiz (0.7.8), and the Sun Java 6 JDK + java plug-in from the ubuntu repositories, when I do the following:
- Start Firefox (3.0.7) - Go to http://www.xoxosoma.com/tokyo-tuesday/ - This pages loads a Java applet - Problem: X11 crashes and I'm back to the GDM login screen Also, browsing applets from www.openprocessing.org often leads to the same problems. My guess is that there is some bad interaction between the Java libs and the window manager, which seems to be confirmed by this line from /var/messages Mar 11 14:24:04 cherry kernel: [12160.856125] compiz.real[15145]: segfault at 3a7a ip 08055c8c sp bfa8a6c0 error 4 in compiz.real[8048000+34000] ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- x11 crash when loading java applet in firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341279 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
