We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this
i830 with 2.7.0 Option AccelMethod uxa is still getting flickering
black screen instead of desktop.

I can confirm this with Karmic packages 2.7.0-1ubuntu1 and also with the ppa
package 2.7.0-1ubuntu2~xup~1
if i put AccelMethod exa everything goes fine, so probably is an uxa/gem
problem.

sorry for the spam.. i forgot to tell you that i'm using 2.6.30-5-server
linux kernel found in karmic repository and that if i try to run some
opengl software it complains 'bout some GEM problem message: Failed to
initialize GEM. Falling back to classic.
