Ouch ! I've just experienced a new crash a few minutes ago (got stuck
right in the middle of ALT-TAB switch operation). "sound effect and
alert" is still disabled though (btw I'm using ALSA; neither OSS nor HDA

the update service. I turned on the system sounds again and I haven't
experienced crash yet.

Actually, I encountered the pb yesterday. And there is a fatal error
reported in the Xorg.log file. I don't know if it has something to do
with our current issue, but still, here it is:

This version includes a major reworking of the acceleration
architecture, which resolves a huge number of issues. We do not know
whether it resolves the issue you reported.
