Public bug reported:
I completed a fresh installation of jaunty jackalope. During boot, I
get a brief period of corrupted display and finally the screen switches
to text output ending with Checking battery state [OK]. The system
displays keyboard input on the screen but the only key combination I can
find to affect the system is Ctrl-Alt-Delete which results in Shutting
down GNOME display manager and then triggers a reboot.
