Ugh, bug 292264 is not the same. I am not using a display manager, I am
in text only mode -- but the sizing and off center problems occur there.

Please remember that there is no graphic driver from nvidia for tnt and
other nvidia-graphics-drivers-71 cards in Karmic (because nvidia hasn't
updated their driver), so you need to test this with the nv driver.
This means that if you still have a problem with the resolution and/or
screen
