Bizarrely, the problem is reproducible, but only for the second user logged in.
I.e. steps to reproduce:
Log in as user 1, then switch user to user 2
User 2, play a video file in Totem, go to full screen - no crash unless mouse
is moved (!) -- seems to crash when Totem tries to draw the bottom
