Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg
(I'm pretty sure this is a bug with Ubuntu and not G15 keyboard, actually I think it might be X server bug) (Also, the bug report tool would not let me choose "I don't know" option for package name) I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Reproduced this bug with g15macro 1.03 compiled from source (also reproduced from Symantec version too) The g15daemon and g15macro work fine, I can use the G and M keys for simple macros (text typing). When going to "Keyboard Shortcuts" app from System->Preferences, I can select an action and press one of the G keys to be used as a shortcut. The shortcut then becomes something like XF86Launch7, which is fine (meaning Keyboard Shortcuts app actually recognizes the G keys). When I press the same G key after closing the Keyboard Shortcuts app, nothing happens. I'm not completely sure, but my guess is that this occurs due to XSendEvent (default compile option) and XTest (tried this as well), which g15macro relies on, having a flag telling apps that they are 'fake' keypresses. I'm also guessing that Ubuntu ignores them since they're fake, even though Keyboard Shortcuts app recognizes them.
