Same on Lucid 10.4 Live-CD, sorry. There is no chance to use my value-
laptop with linux, because evry newer linux, openSuSE, fedora,
Mandriva..all the same bug exept XP or Win7, the keyboard is ok.

test if it still occurs on Lucid?
Please note we also provide technical support for older versions of
Ubuntu, but not in the bug tracker. Instead, to raise the issue through
normal
same on my acer travelmate 3210. I somehow have the feeling that it has
something to do with my touchpad. when I read your bug report I tested.
tap the touchpad and my keyboard stopped responding. then I tapped it
again the keyboard started responding again.
