Francis: you have got the new xserver-xorg-video-intel package
(2.9.0-1ubuntu1) from karmic, which was uploaded just before you added
the ppa. So the fix is already in Karmic and there is no need anymore to
upload any logs. Therefore I will close this bug.

In order to provide the Xorg log file you want, I need to go back to the
old xserver-xorg-video-intel package that was causing the problem.
However, I'm not certain how to do it. Could you give me a clue?

I added the ubuntu-x-swap ppa, and updated. The problem seems to be
gone. I guess it was fixed by the swat team.
