We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirm

attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log after the driver fails when you get the time?

I removed all the previous versions of Nvidia packages using Synaptic Package
Manager
I downloaded and installed the drivers from Nvidias' website:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html
Choosing the right OS version.
It started working after reboot!!
