Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-180
I am testing Karmic on my Lenovo laptop. I applied all the latest updates and then tried to install the nvidia driver using Hardware Drivers. I chose the recommended nvidia-glx-180, which is currently working fine with Jaunty. When I reboot shortly after the Ubuntu logo appears I get a black screen. I can't access a terminal via Alt-Ctrl-F1, so can't get any furhter info about what went wrong. lspci shows 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] (rev a1) I have a disk image before I tried to install the nvidia driver, so if anyone can suggest a method of collecting more information, I can roll back to this image and try again. Apologies if this bug gets submitted twice, but Launchpad crashed on the first attempt.
