I'm Unable to reproduce the problem reported in this bug report after the
update.
There is a lot of screen "flicker" during boot however (and at login screen).
Once logged in, the flickering ceases.
I'm Unsure where and how to post a bug report on this new issue, and
what logs would be relevant.
will post if i encounter anything.

Thanks for reporting this bug to help making the Intel graphics driver
better. We hear from upstream that a number of bugs (possibly including
this one) have been fixed in the newer DRM code from the 2.6.33 kernel.
I don't know if your bug is one of the ones f
the screen went black, and then garbage appeared to the top left (unreadable
junk).
I couldn't get to a console, and the computer wouldn't respond to anything, I
left it for five minutes and then powered off the machine.

You mentioned 'crash' in your report, but I notice a gpu dump got
captured, which only occurs for X freezes. Can you confirm that what
you've seen is a freeze (system appears to lockup but maybe the mouse
cursor moves) rather than a crash (dumps you back to login screen)?
