This problem has not been fixed as of lucid beta or the March 28 daily lucid
build (I just tested both with the same result as before). The issue seems
to affect users with LCD TV's (and possibly nvidia video cards) but the bug
disapears when one plugs in their computer to an LCD monitor.

This sounds like a nouveau or xorg bug. It's definitely not a ubiquity
bug as ubiquity doesn't start in the "Try Xubuntu without installing"
option until *after* you've gotten to the desktop and clicked on it.
