Public bug reported: Whilst investigating several other xserver bugs for Lucid i386 (2010-03-04) with Ubuntu and Xubuntu I have noticed that the first start of the xserver reports:
(WW) Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory) Looking at the entry timings in /var/run/ it seems that acpid isn't ready when X kicks off from a cold boot. All subsequent restarts of the xserver, whether manual or because of failure-retries/failsafe, successfully open the socket. Looks like maybe start-up of xserver needs to depend on acpid, but not clear on how the parallel start-up mechanism might be tweaked for this. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Lucid] acpid.socket not ready when xserver starts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532815 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
