I haven't used this computer for a while but this bug disappeared
yesterday when I installed gazillion of new updates, not sure which one
fixed this bug.

I can use the monitor's adjustment to fix the positioning. I didn't get
this bug before the latest xserver updates (therefore I add the
regression tags). Also, I can't reproduce this bug with the nvdriver
since the screens tool is then unable to change the refresh rate.

Can you use the monitor's display adjustment to fix the positioning?
The analog VGA signal often needs these sorts of adjustments. Is there
anything to indicate that this is unusal?
