Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
When KMS is not turned off I experience "traditional" system freezes. This happens on lucid. Switching off the messaging is supposed to fix it, it however does not. Here's what I find in the kern.log (a freeze happens May 4, 20:47) May 2 21:00:02 mykern kernel: [277203.143919] cron[699]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp bfba84b8 error 4 in libnss_compat-2.10.1.so (deleted)[ 110000+6000] May 2 23:22:46 mykern kernel: [ 0.185808] ACPI Error (dswload-0659): [\___P] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND May 2 23:22:46 mykern kernel: [ 0.185825] ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0._INI] (Node f700f6c0), A E_NOT_FOUND May 2 23:22:46 mykern kernel: [ 2.171150] [drm:rs400_gart_adjust_size] *ERROR* Forcing to 32M GART size (because of ASIC bug ?)
