Hi,
Cannot test these all now, but I've tried the suspend on lid close.
Again it worked fine first time (i.e., it suspended and then resumed
correctly when I opened the lid). However, the second time, the lid open
produced a reboot.
I'll test other things tomorrow morning.

Then please recreate the issue and then enter a TTY by typing Ctrl+Alt+F1.
Login, and then create these two log files:
cat /var/log/dmesg > dmesg_crash.txt
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log > Xorg.0.l
