I've never experienced this before, but when I upgraded to ubuntu 11.10
64 bit I got the same problem. The hard drive is filled up with
.xsession-errors which makes it difficult to use the machine for
anything useful after a few hours! Hope someone can fix this soon..

I see the same error messages as toddmallen on 11.04 64-bit with pidgin
2.7.11 (1:2.7.11-1ubuntu2). It's about 20 of these per second, causing
~/.xsession-errors to grow by several GiB per hour!

Can confirm this issue is not fixed (or at least not in all cases). I
just had my disk fill up overnight with endless repetitions of the
following:
(Pidgin:21050): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_poll_write_control: assertion
`set != NULL' failed
todd@europa:~$ ls -lh .xsession*
-rw--- 1 todd
The fix for this should be available now in natty.
