Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

I have been using linux for about 15 years now, 8 on my personal machine
but this one seems to be cooking my noodle to figure it out. It doesn't
seem to matter whether I in any particular program, suddenly I will have
no keyboard input except of course old faithful (Control - Alt -
Backspace). Mouse input continues to work just perfectly.

I have created a text doc on my desktop using the mouse and opened it...
typed (blindly) and did a save with my mouse, restarted x and checked to
see if the file was updated and that I couldn't see the updates
occurring but the file remained empty after x restart so I don't believe
its a screen update issue with Nvidia. Desktop effects (compiz) are
disabled as well.

Does anyone have any ideas.
