Chris Jones, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any

Only change with the new lbm_cw_mac80211 module and kernel 2.6.28-13,
was that I can't even get a connection with ath5k now. And still no led
activity when the connection is in progress. "nm-tool" do list all
broadcasting SSID's, so the card and driver is alive.
How was it testet

Could you try installing the linux-backports-modules-jaunty package? It
contains an updated compat-wireless stack which may help. I'd be
curious if know if it resolves your low bandwidth/disconnect issues as
well as the led issue reported here. Thanks.

Still exactly the same issue in Jaunty - and the workaround still
applies :
A "sudo nano /etc/sysctl.conf" and inserting a new line with
"dev.wifi0.ledpin = 1" makes it work after a reboot too.
