Thanks for reporting this X gpu lockup bug in Ubuntu maverick.
In my opinion GPU lockups are one of the most frustrating kinds of bugs,
both as a user and a developer. I want take a few moments of your time
to explain the situation with these types of bugs.

Seeing the same here, regardless of running compiz. In fact, every full
screen Flash crashes (cannot Esq to quit; need to ctrl-alt-F2 and kill
browser and plugin-containe or restart gdm).

Actually I have noted this, too. But on an Asus X53Ka Notebook with an
Radeon Mobility HD2600. Here the fglrx crashes when going to fullscreen
with hardware acceleration enabled. The Graphics then shows some strange
glitches and goes to a black screen. I have to go to a console to
restart the syste

I just tested flash fullscreen with the opensource radeon driver instead of
fglrx and it works like a charm.
For now this is ok, but I am using fglrx for better 3D performance so it is a
bit annoying to switch the drivers every time.
Can somebody tell me how to get more information about thi

Hi.
This affects me to.
I'm on an HP Compaq 6720s Notebook with an intel Mobile GM965/GL960 Graphics.
Does anyone has a clue why this is specfic to youtube?
Flash fullscreen in general works. Do YouTube fullscreen does not.
But when disabling compiz, youtube works too.
