Hi
I tired to run apport-collect, but it opened launchpad int he name of my
computer, not in my account so it failed to report to the bug.
I use this computer in production so there is no way for me to try an
upstream realease. I am now running 12.04 and the text is still present
during boot and s
gratefulfrog, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/cur

I created that .conf file and put the content you requested into it.
The text is now a bit smaller, but still unacceptably ugly for a boot
sequence, particularly since I use this machine to show off Ubuntu Linux to
my non IT friends!
I demo to all how easy it is and no
Non-supported driver resulting in ugly 16-color low res boot (plymouth
with text only, instead of graphics) is a known KMS issue. However
radeon should be supported.
Could you please try the following to see if it makes the boot more
aesthetically pleasing:
echo options radeon modeset=1 > /etc/mo
