You need to suggest that upstream. Changing something that has been
there for some time already is really not something we'll change in
ubuntu.

I'd say that the less-than-or-equal, and greater-than-or-equal should
change. The double and single arrow follow a nice convention that is 4
glyphs strong.
I'd rather see ≤ and ≥, mapped to _> and _< (with underbars) myself.

I looked at the patch and meant to send it upstream, but I noticed that
it conflicts with "≤" and "≥", so you don't actually get the double
arrows with the patch.
