i915.powersave=0 didn't change anything. I saw this:

Screen Flicker on Intel 915 Video adapter.
I found a reference somewhere (sorry, didn't note the URL, not that it
matters much). It suggested to add i915.powersave=0 to grub in order to
turn off the power save of the video adapter. It doesn't seem to help
though. I still get sever flicker after about 24 hours. As I try more
