Title:
Xorg freeze; system locks
I switched to a new machine. Ran a similar set of code and everything
was OK. I was using the same USB TV Recorder and the same version of
MythBuntu. My apologies for not replying to this thread earlier.
I beleiver this can be rejected on the basis that it was a hardware
fault with my system.
I left my MythTV system running with my main account logged into TTY4
and have had serveral crasahes which produced out; there have also been
two or three crashes that did not produce any output but still locked up
the system.
This trace looks like it is communicating with the recorder I have
Another image of the crash output; this one seems to show that the
system was running the MythTV commercial flagging process when something
went wrong.
** Attachment added: Image of output from Crash taken from TTY4; mythcommflag
tainted
This was the most resent crash I have seen and I cannot see anything
which relates directly to MythTV or the USB connection to my hardware.
This could mean that the system does have an intermittent hardware fault
and that there is no software solution possible.
I will continue to gather
apport information

Xorg freeze; system locks and accepts no
Saying that it's a rather old machine and that the lockups are random
could suggest that it's the dying hardware causing it, or overheating.
Reassigning to the nvidia driver anyway.
