After updating and restarting unity today I was met with a blank
desktop, just the background image drawn. It seems that the unity plugin
was turned off - however after turning it back on
The dmesg reveals that compiz had crashed three times, and xserver as
well. They aren't necessarily related though. Please run the upgrades
and see if you can reproduce the issue.
