Yeah looks like it's definitely unhappy about your monitors' EDIDs. You don't have any adapters or other hardware connected between the computer and the monitors do you? I take it you were running nouveau previously, and was able to correctly configure to 1680x1050 via gnome-display-properties?

The only hardware between the card and the monitor is the little dongle that converts DVI to VGA. These have always been connected to the card. I was previously running okay with nouveau, and yes, had both displays at 1680x1050. Yes, I switch on twinview in nvidia-settings. I have now booted
