Since it occurs before GDM, after grub starts loading the kernel, then
it looks like kernel lvds brightness control is messed up. Possibly
ACPI related.

Issue is not consistent and exists also in LiveCD.
This happens before GDM/LiveSession, even without splash.
Brightness level goes down during boot and maximum available level becomes
about 1/4 of the normal one.
