First, go back to stock natty (e.g. run ppa-purge on xorg-edgers to remove it) and reproduce the original problem. Next, manually install packages one by one from xorg-edgers, re-testing by reproducing the bug with each package until the issue goes away. That will narrow down to what package has

The apport hook crash is bug 749809 which should now be fixed. The X hang is probably one of our various gpu lockup bugs. Probably easiest to re-report it when it next recurs. Meanwhile I'll close this bug report out since we don't have the necessary gpu state captured. ** Tags added: natty
